CATTLE ACQUISITION

Our Angus system relies on collaboration with partner farms. Within the partnership programme, Karpaten Meat buys Angus calves, Angus calves cross-bred with Romanian Pied Simmental or Angus calves cross-bred with other beef cattle breeds, according to the buy-back clause in the framework contract.

The main goal of our company, from the beginning, has been to build an Angus calves production system in Romania, both through a self-managing functional cattle hub, and through setting up a network of calves production through the partnership programmes we offer our collaborators. Our Angus system is based on cooperation with partner companies both for breeding and fattening. Therefore, as system providers, we support partnerships by offering fair conditions that are mutually beneficial, both in cattle sales and acquisitions.

Currently, we are collaborating with more than 500 partners, for both Angus breeding cattle and Angus calves acquisitions, located countrywide. There is a constantly rising interest in developing partnerships with Karpaten Meat due to the fact that, on the one hand, this is a profitable business, and on the other hand, due to the guarantee for product market, under the terms and conditions of the collaboration contract.

Karpaten Meat primarily transfers experience and know-how to our partners, and this know-how is the driving force behind system expansion. One of Karpaten Meat’s goals is to increase the number and quality of repurchased calves, which would directly lead to a high flow of direct payments towards Romanian farmers.

Pasture fattening, a cheap option. From grass to beef!

The beef we obtain from pasture-fed cattle meets the demands of modern consumers, the Angus cattle being ideal in this respect. The robust Angus cattle are very easy to care for and have optimal roughage efficiency. In this way, farmers can reduce costs involved in intensive foraging. Grass feeding is easier to manage and brings significant savings compared to that in a conventional closed housing system.

Our goal – producing robust and easy to care for cattle

  • Cattle that are robust and easily adaptable to environment conditions, and resist to temperatures ranging -40°C to +40°C
  • Fertile, easy to care for cows, with high milk yield in calves suckling (Easy-handling-cow)
  • Excellent growth and high carcass yield
  • Calves with high average daily weight gain from grazing and suckling
  • Weaning when the calf has reached at least 50% of its mother’s live weight
