AGRICOVER FUNDING PROGRAM – A MAJOR INTEREST FOR FARMERS

Over the weekend, more than 200 people were present at the meeting of the Agricover members. With this occasion, topics like the Romanian agriculture and zootechnical field financing were discussed, in the first half of 2018.

Due to the high interest of the farmers in our country for the Credit Angus program that was created by Karpaten Meat in collaboration with Agricover, KMG was invited to take part in this internal event and present the details of this project. For a better understanding of this program, after the presentation, the discussion took a more interactive turn and went from applied cases to a debate session.

Our presence at the event was very well received, many participants showed their interest in organising visits to credited/ potential farms, together with the KMG. We were also glad to accept the suggestion of some of them to come first to our farm in Marpod, so that they can better understand the way how an efficient management is working. During this week, the first three visits were established.

This credit is aimed for farmers in all areas of the country, who are interested in developing a cattle business and operating under the umbrella of a commercial company (individuals are unable to finance this form of credit).

No matter the farm size (small, medium or large) our priority is to identify the best option for each particular case, taking into account the financial implications (discussed with Agricover consultants) and the development capacity of an efficient and profitable management (alongside the Karpaten Meat Group).

Considering the success of this collaboration and the major interest of farmers for this opportunity, in the future, there is a possibility to develop other complementary projects in this area, not just for cattle purchases.
